So, for people who have been reading my blog for a while, you may remembering me saying I don’t go host clubs, neither will I go to a host club.

Well, that’s now a little bit of a lie. Seeing as I’ve been a few times now.

At first I didn’t go because I was worried about getting ripped off. So many girls had thrown around horror stories about surprise costs and tricks. So I was a little intimidated and never trusted the guys when they told me the price. I thought being a forienger might make me an easy target to fuck over.

But after some extreme drinking and other experiences with Japanese friends, I can now say I think host clubs are pretty cool. Because;

1. I never realised how cheap it can acctually be to get fucked up at a host club.

2. Constant refills of your drink as soon as its empty by a hot guy

3. Instant company for you and your friends

I paid around 1000 yen for 90minutes, this seems to be a bench mark price. It can be more or it can be less. But generally it includes unlimited shochu, which is amazing. I thought I might provide a host club how to, to convince more people that it can be a good idea.

Tip 1, If you’re not Japanese, I would suggest hanging around kabukichou and waiting for someone to approach you. If you feel confident in your Japanese, approach them. Ask if they are working, ask where and find out how much. If you think it’s too expensive, sometimes you can haggle the price.

Tip 2, Always make sure you are clear on the price and what it includes. If they say you can drink alcohol, ask what kind and stick to it. Ordering outside of that will cost more. Also requesting a certain boy can cost more too.

Tip 3, If your japanese begins to fail, drinking games.

Tip 4, Take their cards, be polite. Sometimes hosts follow you to the toliet door and escort you back to your table. That’s considered normal (although I think it’s weird). This is generally followed by a hand towel.

Tip 5, Always go to a new club otherwise it will be expensive and you won’t get an introduction deal.

Theres not much more I can say on host clubs. But it’s a fun thing to try even just for the experience. 500 yen for 60 minutes unlimited drinking is cheaper than a bar or karaoke, so I can’t believe I didn’t go sooner!

I will still refuse to go to a guys club who I’m fucking though. That will stay as a rule >.<
